Internal Communications Manager – Factories

Position Summary

We have an amazing opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager, to engage internal stakeholders throughout our factory population in the business. to engage internal stakeholders throughout our factory population in the business. You will deliver messaging around the strategy and goals of the business through effective communication and engagement activities , ensuring you are able to tell a story and take people on a journey with you .

A day in the life of…

Ultimately, you will be responsible for developing and managing plans for communicating the business strategy within the factories to ensure colleagues are informed, engaged and understand how their work contributes to business goals and the company’s overall strategy.

You will also:

  • Develop and manage effective internal communication channels for the factories to reach all colleagues with timely news and information (e.g. team briefings, e-newsletters, meetings/events, intranet etc).
  • Work with the central internal communications team to develop and implement a plan to involve factory-based colleagues with the business’s strategy and goals.
  • Support the central corporate communications teams in the creation of factory specific content (e.g. managing factory filming, photo shoots etc.).
  • Maintain a good network of contacts within the factories in order to identify all stories, potential stories, news, launches and issues from a category perspective.
  • Brief the central communications team and disseminate within the category.
  • Produce category specific briefing documents, facts, statistics and figures for use by media relations team with media and stakeholders
  • Where appropriate, develop and manage communications campaigns that support the factory business strategy and goals by building engagement and trust amongst internal stakeholders
  • Manage factory communications budget.

What Will Make You Successful?

To be successful in this role you will already have knowledge of the role that communications plays within a business, for both internal and external stakeholders. You will have a great track record in understanding, interpreting and leveraging different communication styles and platforms to engage multiple audiences. Evidence of communication delivery to non-desk based audiences is a must.

You will also:

  • Have the ability to network and influence at senior levels both internally and externally.
  • Experience of working in a communications team within a large organisation, ideally with multiple sites.
  • Experience of developing and delivering internal communications within large and complex organisations.
  • Support senior executives and other divisions on their approach to communications, including messaging.
  • Channel management (print, live events and digital channels).
  • Strong writing skills, adept at concisely conveying complex messages and writing for different audience.
  • Experience of managing suppliers and budgets.
