THE POSITION
Reporting to the Head of Marketing in EMEA (part of the EMEA Management Committee), and as a member of the global fast-paced in-house corporate communications team, this role is responsible for helping tell the SVB story within EMEA in both traditional and social media channels. This department handles external communications (public relations and social media) for all areas of the EMEA business, including corporate, product, community and our various lines of business.
The EMEA Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for:
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Media relations
  • Interview prep, participation, follow-up
  • Proactive media relations:
  • Relationship development and maintenance
  • Announcement or news related
  • Handle all reactive media requests
  • Support all EMEA SVBers in dealings with media
  • Non-financial SVB press releases
  • Client press releases
  • Crisis coordinator for EMEA media audience
  • Editing and placement of SVB byline articles
  • Tracking projects, writing, proofing and using social media monitoring tools
  • Database management, administration, reporting and presentation development
  • Message development for announcements and also situational message development/ talking points
  • Help to define EMEA’s annual Marketing and Communications strategy alongside the other members of the EMEA Marketing Leadership Team with measurable goals and defined tactics to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness. Also define and track budgets.

EMEA PR FUNCTION EFFECTIVENESS

  • Development / maintenance of PR tools like message documents, Q&A, PR on internal intranet for use with media and clients
  • Tracking of media relationships in database
  • Monthly and quarterly media coverage analysis and reporting
  • Manage Spokesperson Programme
  • Internal communication of public, non-financial announcements
  • Coordination with other communicators globally, including internal communications and IR
WRITING AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Editing and proofing public-facing material
  • Editor on call for thought leadership and insights initiatives
  • Quality control on public-facing materials (as requested, not comprehensive)
  • Back-up to all writers / editors
  • Communications sent by Marketing
  • Frequent reports
  • In-depth research reports

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT AND WRITING

  • Sales tools: corporate and product inserts, pitchbooks, e-mail campaigns, speeches
  • Re-write and development of client material as requested

Qualifications

Specific requirements include:

  • A dynamic and strategic thinker with relevant public relations and communications experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality initiatives which align with business goals, marketing strategy and budget
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C marketing and PR programmes
  • Preferably both agency and in-house PR and social media experience; agency experience preferred
  • Understanding of B2B or professional services marketing (versus consumer brands)
  • Some experience with
  • Muckrack, Symscio or other media database
  • Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite or other social media management software, and native social media platforms
  • Episerver or other Website CMS systems
  • Fluency in digital and social media
  • Writing, editing and proofing skills
  • Reporting and data analysis skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and shift gears quickly; sense of urgency
  • Strong collaborator; flexible/adaptable; always willing to pitch in with teammates to get the job done
