At Sheffield Hallam, we launched a new Internal Communications service in January 2019, which is part of the Communications and Marketing team. As we continue the delivery of our University Strategy, high levels of engagement and effective internal communications have an important part to play. We are looking for a talented, capable Head of Internal Communications to lead in this area
Based in the Recruitment, Communications and Marketing group at our City Campus, you’ll play a pivotal role in the Communications and Marketing team, which leads on the delivery and continuing development of communications and marketing activity which supports the University’s strategic positioning, advancing our institutional profile and reputation.
You will be leading the development and delivery of internal communications strategies on a range of projects and change programmes, supported by a team of communications professionals. You’ll work with colleagues from across the University and be able to provide strategic advice on communications, for both staff and student audiences. You should have tactical experience of delivery and be confident in your decision-making and team leadership.
Significant experience of advising senior stakeholders on, and devising and delivering, communications strategies will be expected, as well as experience leading teams. Experience of introducing and owning intranets or websites would be an advantage, as overseeing the development and launch of our new staff intranet will be a key project during your time here.
You should be confident at delivering strategic communications across a range of channels and be able to use your initiative to drive projects forward. You should be able to demonstrate experience of successfully engaging different publics, using tactics and tools tailored appropriately for your audience.
