Do you have journalistic flair and really know how to bring a story to life? We’re looking for a Senior Internal Comms Officer to join our Team.

Your role will be to provide internal colleagues with an interesting, diverse and readable news service. We’re looking for someone with fresh ideas who can managing our internal channels to ensure that we maintain a range of channels and content that ensure every employee gets the news and updates they need.

We’d like someone to take on the editorial role for core internal channels such as our Team Talk manager briefing pack, our new employee news app, our CEO blog, the homepage of our intranet and our noticeboards and screens. You’ll be a key player in the weekly internal comms editorial meetings with the rest of the team so we have consistent messaging across all areas.

Our Comms Team works well together so collaboration across the Communications Team will be key to ensuring the consistent and joined-up communication of corporate messages and sharing of best practice.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to produce a news service that our colleagues want to read so proven ability to write engaging copy that encourages colleagues to read and take on board messaged will be a key skill. We’ll look for you to have proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Experience of managing multiple projects concurrently is also important. A key part will also be having the knowledge to influencing strategic thinking on our approach – with a view on social media and the best and most interactive channels.

Key skills and competencies:

Excellent and engaging writing skills. Strong interpersonal skills in managing and influencing key stakeholders. Creative thinking and problem solving. Good attention to detail and high quality output. Good leadership and management attributes. Self-motivated individual who enjoys and embraces challenge with a quality driven energetic approach.

Confident, articulate with excellent listening skills. Good evidence of creative thinking and problem solving. The confidence to challenge the norm and be able to deal with conflict and competing agendas, and to work with key stakeholders at all levels of the business. Desirable: Good knowledge of social media and design principles that help us produce more engaging channels and campaigns.

Qualifications:

Degree qualified in a related subject or significant relevant Comms or business planning experience. Significant relevant water industry experience may be considered alongside required skills and competencies. Desirable: Qualification from a recognised professional communications/marketing body.

This is full time role based at our Coventry Modern Head Office.
